RAVTE and UTHM Successfully Convene Annual General Assembly (GAM 2026) Alongside the 10th World Conference on TVET in Malaysia
JOHOR BAHRU, MALAYSIA – October 14, 2026 — The Regional Association of Vocational and Technical Education in Asia (RAVTE), led by the RAVTE, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), in partnership with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), successfully organized the RAVTE General Assembly Meeting 2026 (GAM 2026) in conjunction with the 10th World Conference on TVET (WoCTVET 2026) at Novotel Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
As a core co-host and the operational backbone serving as the RAVTE Secretariat, the Faculty of Technical Education, RMUTT, played an integral role in coordinating the assembly, fostering dialogue among regional stakeholders, and facilitating multilateral academic initiatives. University executives and leadership representatives from RMUTT actively participated in high-level discussions alongside regional partner institutions.
The joint convening provided a dynamic international platform for TVET leaders, researchers, and policy innovators to address key developments in technical and vocational education, workforce transformation, and sustainable institutional networks across Asia.
Through its dedicated secretariat governance, the Faculty of Technical Education, RMUTT, continues to reinforce RAVTE’s mission in driving cross-border collaboration, professional capacity building, and future-ready TVET development throughout the region.

World Youth Skills Day 2026: Skills for a shared future

Every year on 15 July, World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) celebrates the importance of equipping young people with the skills they need for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. Under the theme “Skills for a shared future”, this year’s WYSD events will focus on the need to develop innovative youth skills programmes that prepare young people to participate in digital, AI-driven and green economies, where they can lead with empathy, communicate across cultures, build resilience and contribute to a more inclusive and peaceful future.
To mark WYSD 2026, UNESCO-UNEVOC invites UNEVOC Network members to get involved in the following ways:
1.💻Participate in the webinar scheduled for Wednesday, 15 July 2026, 10:00-12:30 CEST. The webinar will bring together governments, educators, employers, youth networks and young people themselves to address one question:
“What will it take to equip every young person with the competencies they need to thrive in a shared future?” Webinar registration here.
2.📝WYSD Youth Survey: Circulate and encourage youth aged 19-35 to share their perspective by participating in the World Youth Skills Day 2026 Youth Survey. Deadline: 7 July 2026.
3.🎬Share your story: video call for TVET Youth Voices: UNESCO-UNEVOC invites young people to share their perspectives on ”Skills for a shared future” through a short video. Submission details are available here. Deadline: 3 July 2026.

As part of the UNEVOC Network Coaction Initiative, Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE, together with Partner Centres, is organizing online training and a forum on Intercultural Competence and Global Citizenship Education. The programme is open to members of the UNEVOC Network and the wider TVET community. It aims to support TVET educators in strengthening intercultural awareness, communication skills and global citizenship education in their teaching practice.
