The 2024 SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Award

 

Dear all,

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) and the Government of Japan, through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan (MEXT), in cooperation with the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office in Bangkok, are excited to announce the 2024 SEAMEO-Japan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Award. This year’s theme is “Promoting Lifelong STEM Learning through Community Engagement.”

Participants have the opportunity to visit Japan and experience its unique educational system, similar to what you might see in Anime and Manga.

All public and private kindergarten, elementary, secondary, and vocational and technical schools (up to Grade 12) in the 11 SEAMEO Member Countries are welcome to participate.

What to submit?
– Submission form (downloadable at https://link.seameo.org/esd2024 or send a request to seameojapan.award@seameo.org)
– A 3-minute video clip presenting the school’s programme related to the theme Promoting Lifelong STEM Learning through Community Engagement
– Both the submission form and the video clip to be submitted through the following Google Form: https://link.seameo.org/ESD2024/Submission

Please note:
– The 15 August 2024 deadline is a strict deadline.
– Any part of an entry not in English must be accompanied by English translation. Please refer to the submission instructions for more details.
– Each school can only submit one entry.
– Entry in hard/printed copies is not accepted.
– A school entry that had been shortlisted or won the SEAMEO-Japan ESD Award within the past five (5) years (2019-2023) will not be considered.

Deepest Condolences on the Passing of Dr.Rolf Burghardt Gennrich

It is with profound sadness that we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Dr.Rolf Burghardt Gennrich. His unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions to Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) and the Regional Association of Vocational and Technical Education in Asia (RAVTE) have left an indelible mark on our community.

 

 

Dr. Gennrich’s visionary leadership and tireless efforts have significantly advanced the fields of vocational and technical education, fostering innovation and excellence. His commitment to improving educational standards and supporting the professional development of countless individuals has been truly inspiring.

We are immensely grateful for Dr. Gennrich’s profound impact on RMUTT and RAVTE. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us as we strive to uphold the high standards he set and pursue the vision he so passionately championed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Gennrich’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace, and may his contributions continue to benefit future generations.
